So Much for being Normal

Back at the Ranch, things have been going well. The grass is green, and the grama grass appears to be heading out. That is unreal for this time of year. Of course, we have received a lot of snow over the winter and at least a tenth of rain every week. I could really get into Global change if this is the results weather-wise!

We have several more calves on the ground. Great $100 days. We have also lost a couple. It does not matter where you are or what you do, if you have animals, you will lose some. It still hurts though.

Back in Portales, things have changed again. The small RV was just a bit too tight for me to work out of full time. Thus, for my birthday, my husband bought me a new Montana fifth Wheel RV. It is beautiful and so roomy compared to what we had before.

Our RV has hickory wood, not just laminate, and is very plush. It will take a bit of time to get things sorted as to how to work in here. It does include a desk, but I am not sure that is going to work for my purposes. It would, however, work for Jerry’s. At least, I will not have to worry about him stealing my computer to check his email or whatever else he has to do.

The table is wide and sits in a slide-out alcove. Three sides have windows, and it is nice to be able to look out as I write. I do know I will have to find a spot for files and a system for staying organized, but that is something you have to do any time you move.

I do know I am tired of moving. The next move I want to make is the one back to the ranch full time. That will be a few years down the road. In the mean time, this will be a wonderful place from which to ply my trade as a writer.Another
